Thanks to the configurator, 90% of all inquiries, around 3000 per year, can be processed around 50% faster. This impressive optimization of internal sales processes therefore not only has the potential to decisively advance electromobility in new markets, but has also sustainably optimized internal processes. Personalized quote in just a few clicks - fully automated and effortlessly created
Electric vehicles are booming worldwide and, as a result, naturally also in the vehicles sold by AMAG GROUP AG. In order to further exploit this potential and achieve the extremely high climate targets, the company - with its subsidiary Helion Energy AG - is relying on the charging station configurator.
The user-friendly "Wizzard" guides interested parties (leads) through the survey in a step-by-step process, regardless of the end device. Around 3000 offers are processed annually via this configurator solution. This corresponds to around 90% of total annual inquiries. Information on the vehicle brand and type, the parking and building situation and the electronic infrastructure is recorded. These leads reach the configurator via various sources, such as partner companies or other configurator mandates. Around 14 independent clients with brands such as Renault, Nissan and Toyota are currently using this solution for the sales process.
As soon as all the necessary parameters have been entered, the system can suggest or create a desired product with all the details. This reduces the time required to create a quotation by 50%, from 1 hour to 30 minutes per quotation!
To ensure that correct quotes are created, a set of rules in the background controls products and services via a manageable Configure Price Quote (CPQ) solution. Additional product and service information as well as prices are pulled from the ERP system via an interface. This ensures that the data is always maintained in one place - the so-called "single source of truth".
At the end of the process, the customer can configure a personal and precise web indicative price offer (+-15%) for the vehicle charging station without any specialist knowledge or time-consuming research. The level of configuration can be detailed down to the parts list.
Does the configurator only work for e-car charging stations?
No! This charging station configurator for e-vehicles is based on the THEIA e-commerce platform. Many other use cases are conceivable. It collects and qualifies leads via this 3-stage Configure Price Quote (CPQ) solution and is basically product and industry-independent! The wizard in the client of the online calculator can be expanded as required and the product logic can be adapted.

Automated lead generation in combination with marketing automation
In the first phase of the sales process, the charging station configurator acts as an autonomous tool for lead qualification and the generation of indicative offers. This conscious decision is based on the fact that the traditional way of preparing offers in the building technology industry, such as on-site measurements, was costly and time-consuming. These investments were often associated with uncertain results, as potential customers often shied away due to a lack of knowledge about the price.
Thanks to the Building Services Configurator, potential new customers (leads) can now receive an indicative price estimate (+-15%) in a cost-effective and binding manner. If the lead is ready to take the next step, further advice and qualification is provided by telesales managers. Possible challenges such as the age of the building are highlighted for the employee. Only when all questions and parameters have been answered in this phase does the cost-intensive planning and the final binding offer take place.
Throughout the entire sales process, the configurator also provides valuable behavioral data on leads, such as the point at which they left the configurator, to the marketing automation tools. These use targeted measures to accompany potential prospects along their decision-making journey over a period of 3-6 months and continuously supply the configurator with new leads. All leads are transferred to the integrated Hubspot CRM of the THEIA e-commerce platform for further processing.
