An App for Modern Democracy in the Digital Age
The mission of the three founders of Plural is to make democracy so simple and accessible that it fits into the everyday lives of all of us. The Plural app is intended to be a tool in our hands that anyone can use to drive initiatives and change in their municipality, canton or Switzerland - from the initial idea through to implementation in the political process.

From Idea to MVP in Record Time
As a strategic partner, we supported Plural from the technical concept to the implementation and operation of the platform. The biggest challenge was to have a functioning MVP (Minimum Viable Product) in the App Store within a few months in order to test the app with real users. Most of the budget was to be invested in app features, while at the same time laying the foundations for a modular and scalable platform.
Code sharing between web and mobile app for maximum flexibility
Both a web and a native mobile app were chosen for the technical implementation of the Plural project. The reason for this was that in the initial phase, the app would primarily be used for interaction and the website would primarily be used as a marketing tool. However, as the use of the same functionality on the web is also planned at a later stage, the challenge was to be able to share as much code as possible between the web and mobile app. In order to combine these two requirements, all features were developed web-first and as little native code as possible was written. A WebView is used to ensure that the functionalities are also available in the app. This means that the app can be distributed to the relevant app stores and (later) made available on the web as soon as this is required.

With the Plural App, you can directly influence decisions and bring your ideas to life. It’s a platform that enables real participation for everyone – free from bureaucratic hurdles. In the community, initiatives are launched, refined, discussed, improved, and developed into actionable projects. Once an initiative gains sufficient support, Plural turns the idea into reality. Plural’s role is to moderate the process and handle the administrative complexity, ensuring that your participation remains simple and straightforward.

Die Zusammenarbeit mit der Sitewerk AG hat für Plural einen echten Unterschied gemacht.
