Efficient Innovation Process
We were allowed to be part of the innovation process of CSS Health Insurance and, in a multidisciplinary team of Sitewerk and CSS experts, design digitally supported products and services in the form of a physical and a clickable prototype and test them on selected end customers.
Patrick Wilhelm, Head of Innovation CSS
Since almost no products and services are created today without digital components, the interdisciplinary project team was put together with complementary expertise from both companies. CSS provided industry-specific know-how with insurance experts and innovation managers, which Sitewerk complemented with user experience, requirements and software development specialists.
This symbiosis of business and IT knowledge enabled a holistic and iterative approach from the 1st phase of the design thinking process (see graphic) , which considers technical aspects, user needs and business goals simultaneously to develop a solution that is both user-friendly and technically feasible.
The Design Thinking Approach in the Project
Within the framework of the specified strategic and thematic thrust "Mental Health", the priority focus group in this health-related area was first examined in more detail in the Problem-Solution-Fit phase. These were divided into different life phases and analyzed in more detail on the basis of interviews with target group-specific persons. In this way, their pain points (Pains) were systematically identified and documented.
Subsequently, a large number of ideas were collected, documented and prioritized in joint creative workshops in order to neutralize these pain points and at the same time achieve the business objectives. The most promising ideas, according to the defined criteria catalog, were refined and further elaborated in idea briefs.

What is Design Thinking?
Design thinking is a creative and iterative approach to product development that is widely used in agile software development and rapid prototyping. Design thinking emphasizes user needs and follows a multi-step process that includes understanding, observing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. This results in the development of innovative solutions that meet user requirements. In agile software development, these approaches are integrated to enable rapid iterations of prototypes and ensure user-centric design. As a result, innovative and user-friendly products and services supported by software solutions can be efficiently developed and quickly iteratively tested on the market.

5 aspects that influence user experience
Do I like what I see? Am I having fun using it? Can I build trust? Are my expectations met? These are all aspects that more or less consciously contribute to the user experience and influence how well a product works for users and whether they would and want to interact with it again.
Part 1: What is agile software development?
Agile software development has been a strong trend for several years and there is almost no way around it as a customer or as an agency in the digital industry. In order to implement complex software projects in today's very fast-paced world, agility is a must. In this three-part blog series you will find out what pitfalls there are when introducing agile software development and what you have to watch out for.
Digitization
«If you digitize a crap process, you end up with a crap digital process». In other words, digital transformation is neither a "silver bullet" nor does it solve all of a company's problems. However, if you use digital tools in a targeted manner, they can bring the decisive advantage over the competition.
