With the configurator platform – developed specifically for Sitewerk and featuring an integrated customer portal – swisspor AG has reached an important milestone in its digitalisation strategy. Thanks to its simple and intuitive operation, the configurator is suitable for both the B2B sector (architects, professionals) and the B2C sector (laypeople/private clients). In an iterative process, users are guided to populate the configurator with their individual details and select their preferred options. Through this guided-selling approach, the user ultimately receives a quote for three system configuration options – precisely tailored to their individual preferences and needs.

In addition to the component configurator, swisspor has also fully digitised several technical support services, enabling customers with a user account to access them via the self-service portal.
- Once the configuration is complete, gross prices are generated for three system configuration variants (Best Practice, Eco, Premium), ensuring transparency and optimal comparability.
- The configurator also carries out an environmental assessment.
- An integrated U-value calculator precisely calculates the value for the selected system configuration variants in the background and, if desired, also makes product recommendations.
- Technical documentation is generated automatically.
- The configurator generates a visualisation of the system configuration.
- The tender text for the selected products, automatically generated by the configurator, can be used directly for tenders if required.
- A system guarantee is issued for the configured product.
- Configurations and construction projects can be managed via the online portal, and associated documents can be downloaded at any time.
Sitewerk CPQ Framework – a solid foundation with options for scaling
The CPQ framework developed by Sitewerk, which serves as the backbone for the flat roof configurator, is a flexible, modular system for configurator solutions. The user interface is custom-designed and built outside the Sitewerk CPQ system. It communicates with Sitewerk CPQ via a standardised interface (REST API). Communication with swisspor’s peripheral systems (PIM, Microsoft EntraID, etc.) is handled by custom-developed connectors that support the import and export of data. The configurator solution as a whole is hosted on the Microsoft Azure Cloud.
A major advantage of the Sitewerk CPQ framework is that components can be reused and do not need to be built from scratch should swisspor undertake a further configurator project. Should swisspor decide to develop further product configurators in the building envelope sector, additional product configurators could be created quickly and efficiently using the core that has been custom-developed for them and tailored to their processes.
