Configurable platform for automated, customized generation of tender documents

A key step toward the future is the digitalization of their sales processes, creating a smoother and more user-friendly experience for their clients. To achieve this, swisspor partnered with Sitewerk to develop a configurator platform with an integrated customer portal. This milestone in their digitalization strategy enables swisspor to continue growing, operate more cost-efficiently, and meet customer needs faster and more individually.
Thanks to its simple and intuitive interface, the configurator is suitable for both B2B users (such as architects and professionals) and B2C users (such as private builders and homeowners). Through a step-by-step guided selling process, users are supported in entering their individual requirements and selecting preferred product variants. At the end of the process, they receive a tailored offer featuring three system configuration options – each precisely aligned with their personal preferences and project needs.

Component configurator – Customized product selection with powerful add-ons
Swisspor has fully digitalized a range of technical support services, enabling customers to access them independently through a self-service portal with their user account.
- Once the configuration is complete, gross prices for three system variants (Best Practice, Eco, Premium) are generated – providing full transparency and easy comparison.
- An ecological evaluation is also carried out as part of the configuration process.
- The integrated U-value calculator runs in the background to precisely calculate values for the selected system configurations and, if desired, suggests suitable products.
- Technical documentation is generated automatically.
- The configurator generates a visualization of the system setup.
- Automatically generated tender texts for selected products can be seamlessly integrated into tender documents as needed.
- The configured product includes a system warranty upon completion.

Sitewerk CPQ Framework – a solid foundation with scalability options
The CPQ framework developed by Sitewerk serves as the backbone for the flat roof configurator. It is a flexible toolkit for building configurator solutions and is highly modular in design. The user interface is custom-designed and built separately from the Sitewerk CPQ. Communication between the UI and the CPQ system takes place via a standardized REST API. Integration with swisspor’s surrounding systems (such as PIM, Microsoft Entra ID, etc.) is handled through custom-built connectors that enable the import and export of data. The entire configurator solution is hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud.
A major advantage of the Sitewerk CPQ framework is its reusability: components can be used across multiple projects. This means that additional configurator projects for swisspor do not need to be built from scratch. If swisspor decides to develop further product configurators in the building envelope segment, they can be implemented quickly and efficiently using the tailored, process-aligned core already developed.
